For as long as I can remember I’ve been a little obsessed with lip balms. Aside from my compulsive hand moisturizing, I would have to say that I always seem to have some lip moisturizer on deck. Dry lips are a big no-no! So without further adieu, here are my thoughts on Cuebalm!

I’ve been using the Cuebalm for about a week now and I really do love it. Compared to most lip balms, Cuebalm is stellar. It hits on the moisture front, and it manages to do so with only three ingredients (jojoba oil, beeswax, and vitamin E).

Cuebalm has a super smooth feel and a great unscented and natural flavor which, in my opinion, makes it ideal for both men and women. While I am partial to all things shea butter, I have to say using Cuebalm is nice for the more humid months as jojoba oil absorbs so well into your skin while shea based products tend to make me feel a little greasy.

The packaging itself is pretty standard for a lip product and fits easily in pretty much any pocket you’ve got on your person. Since I’ve been using it, I have applied the product about two to three times per day max as I feel like it lasts quite a while. And for those lipstick wearers, I’ve also heard that it works well as a primer too.

Overall, I really enjoy Cuebalm and it has jumped to the top of my lip balm rotation (cause who wants dry, cracking lips, anyway?!). At $2.99 a tube, it’s a pretty good value, especially for the quality of ingredients. On top of that, it really helped validate my stance that there really is no good reason not to be using simple and natural products as much as possible. Sometimes they don’t work as well as your “traditional” brands but Cuebalm definitely does a respectable job.

Finding the right daily moisturizer is a difficult, if not, insurmountable task for a guy like me with sensitive, combination skin. In my quest for perfection, I recently had the opportunity to try out Lab Series skin care for men’s Pro LS All-In-One Face Treatment. Product for review was provided courtesy of Lab Series.

My skin is particularly prone to redness near my sinus areas which makes it difficult for me to find a daily moisturizer that soothes that irritation. While trying the treatment for the first few times, I was pleasantly surprised by the mattifying effect that it has (which means it dulled the shininess of my skin). At the same time, it moisturized the lower parts of my face and neck with a light, grease-less feel. This is particularly important for someone like me with oily skin in my t-zone (forehead and nose areas) but dry skin on my cheeks and neck (where shaving usually takes place).

The 1.7 ounce bottle was definitely smaller than I anticipated, but the pump nozzle is easy to use and doesn’t leak out too much product which sometimes leads to waste. I used between 3-4 pumps during my morning routine and the treatment held up even in the harsh, and ever-changing, NY weather.

Overall Impression: Lab Series’ All-In-One Face treatment for men is a quality buy at a mid-range price point (1.7 ounces for $29). By far my favorite part of my experience was the subtle mattifying effect which helped dull shine in my t-zone area which is prone to periodic mini-breakouts. This is what sets this daily moisturizing treatment apart among a plethora of competitors. It is smoothing, calming and moisturizing which is exactly what Lab Series promises. That being said, my one major criticism is that the product doesn’t seem to offer any SPF protection which is helpful for all skin types. This is a major miss for me. All in all, it’s a little pricey but definitely delivers. The Pro LS All-In-One Face Treatment has definitely made me personally want to give the entire Lab Series brand a try.

MANE MAN takes on Somersets Original Shaving Oil from across the pond. But the question is, can Somersets deliver "a naturally better shave" as promised?

Products were provided courtesy of Somersets for the purpose of this review.

Application/Ease of Use: The shave oil can be used on both wet and dry shaves, whether electric or manual which makes it a pretty versatile shave oil. In order to get the most benefit, you need to apply a few drops of the oil to your hands and then distribute evenly on the area to be shaved. But it should be said that you might only get maximum benefit if you follow the instructions and let the oil absorb for at least 30 seconds. I found that not doing so doesn’t necessarily provide the best or smoothest shaving experience, so I strongly suggest you follow the directions on the label. That being said, there really is no other way to use it incorrectly, that is unless you end up touching your eye with a unwashed, oil-drenched hand. Menthol in the eye is never a good idea.

Scent: I really love the scent of the Somersets Original Shaving Oil. It’s actually one of my favorite things about it. It has a nostalgic sort of scent which reminds me of old school barbershops and old men way too past their prime trying to offer me the latest cut. But, hey I suppose that’s a good thing. It’s all natural and packed with good oils like lavender, rosemary, cinnamon and sandalwood just to name a few. The ingredient list alone makes it a super smart buy if you’re looking to move towards a more natural lifestyle.

Price: 35 ml of shave oil will run you about $15 while the smaller version, the 15 ml, will cost you around $7.

Overall Impression: After spending a few weeks with Somersets, all I can say is that this stuff sure packs a pretty big punch. I’ve been using the large bottle for a little while now and have barely used enough oil to break below the bottle of the neck. Now, that’s saying something considering I’ve used it with electric clippers for beard maintenance and wet shaves to keep my neck clear of straggly hairs. Paired with any shaving cream, the effect of the oil is still pretty evident and it helps deliver a good amount of glide which helps prevents nicks and cuts. I haven’t let this one fly completely solo yet, but its definitely on the list of things to do.

I've got an itch...a serious one and it's driving me crazy! You see, every Winter I try and grow out my beard at least once. I don't know what it is...maybe I have a hidden desire to be a lumberjack, who knows? What I do know is, my face itches like crazy!

I’ve got an itch…a serious one and it’s driving me crazy! You see, every Winter I try to grow out my beard at least once. I don’t know what it is…maybe I have a hidden desire to be a lumberjack, who knows? What I do know is, my face itches like crazy!

Several of you out there may know what I’m talking about. If you do, you understand how annoying new stubble can be. If you’ve never grown a beard, beware! You’re likely to have a serious itch, especially for the first couple of days/a week.

But there is some good news! While there’s no one size fits all cure to the “beard itchies” as I call them, I’ve found three things that make me feel much better in the growing out phase:

1. Moisture, moisture, moisture. During the first couple of days of your grow out process you may want to consider being overzealous about keeping your mug nice and moisturized. It certainly has helped me a bit. Plus, you should be doing anyway, right?!

2. Exfoliation is key. Using a daily exfoliant, like my personal favorite Shea Moisture Argan Oil Scrub, will help with moisture as well as lifting up beard hairs, limiting tangles and knots which is especially crucial for guys with curlier hair textures.

3. Comb it. Everyday. Just like the mane on top of your head. You won’t regret it.

If you’re going to don a beard, prepare yourself for the discomfort that will come with your protruding stubble. Be smart and continue to moisturize diligently and exfoliate regularly to ease the discomfort. And if you have a thick or long beard, you may to even consider conditioning it. And yes, I’m totally serious.

Are you looking for a little old school charm in your shaving routine? If so, then Van Der Hagen's Shave Set might be for you. Read on for my review to see if the set passes the test!

You all know that I have had my run in with more than my share of grooming products so I can be a pretty discerning judge when it comes to all things shaving. First, let me give you the positives. At around $13 for the set, the Van Der Hagen system is a pretty good value considering you get the shave soap, a ceramic holder and boar brush with plastic stand (the stand can also hold your favorite razor). So, the value is definitely there. And I can’t say enough, how important it is for guys to make the switch from cheap $2 shave foams to at least a good utility type soap. While the soap does come with some unfortunate ingredients, it also packs shea, cocoa and mango butters which help deliver a bit of added moisture.

Now, let’s move on to the not so great parts. I love a good boar brush but I have to say this one just doesn’t hold up like some of the others I’ve used. At probably my second or third trial with the product, I began to lose a lot of bristles in every shave. Maybe even as much as 10 bristles on some occasions. Unfortunately, I just don’t think the brush is built to last. With regards to the soap itself, I felt like I could have gotten a lot more moisture to help limit irritation. The moisture level isn’t bad, per se, I just wanted more smoothness.

Overall, I think the Van Der Hagen set could be a good fit for a lot of guys out there. I think it’s a particularly good fit if you’re looking to gift yourself or a guy in your life with a step up from cheap, inexpensive shaving products. However, shaving vets will most certainly expect more, so my biggest feedback for this is that you should really know your audience. It’s not a bad value for what you get, but don’t expect to fall in love either.

Now that a few weeks have passed and I’m starting to grow back my goatee, I have had some time to reflect on my first year participating in Movember. To be honest, I was surprised by how off-balance I felt when my facial hair had gone away. Maybe facial hair isn’t just facial hair after all?

I started Movember 1st with a completely bare face and immediately felt that I had regressed a good 10-15 years. I turned into a bashful teenager again and found myself counting down the days until my stache made a come back. These days, I’m feeling a bit more like my usual self, but shaving off my stache and goatee taught me how facial hair, for guys, really is a symbol of adult/manhood. I remember being younger, looking at my father and thinking, what will I look like when I grow a moustache? Will I be cool then? Will I look “old”? It’s funny how big a difference a little razor blade and shaving cream can make.

The goatee is slowly making its way back (woo hoo!) and I’m starting to feel like a grown man again, thankfully. I have to say that Movember was an enlightening experience as it made me more conscious about health issues affecting men around the world. It also gave me impetus to continue to monitor my health as I get older as well the other guys in my life. So, I guess Movember serves it’s purpose after all, huh? Plus, the Mo Gala was pretty fun too!

Movember fundraises year round for men’s health issues and you can visit their U.S. page here for more information. Finally, check out this video from Movember CEO & Co-Founder Adam Garone as he wraps up another successful Movember campaign.

Disclosure: Products were provided courtesy of bump patrol for the purpose of this review.

Readily available with the hefty promise of visible results in 48 hours, bump patrol products are specifically geared towards men of color to combat razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to try out the brand for the first time so I thought I’d share my opinion with all of you. Read on!

Packaging: bump patrol products have an uncomplicated and straightforward brand design which I think most men would welcome to their medicine cabinets. The line design itself is universally blue and deep in color with clear and uncomplicated text that is easy to read. I found the directions easy to understand as well.

Consistency: For the purpose of the review, I want to focus on the Cool Shave Gel for Sensitive Skin and the bump patrol Sensitive Formula Aftershave. Note that bump patrol does have Original Formula and Maximum Strength Aftershave treatments available. The consistency of the shave gel is pretty standard of what you would expect of most over the counter shave gels. It lathers well and is really easy to use. The aftershave treatment has a creamy consistency that was thinner than I expected. In my trials with the product, I learned that I had to be mindful of only squeezing out the tiniest amount as the treatment really does go a long way.

Smell: As one would expect, bump patrol’s shaving gels have a pleasant and clean smell which is definitely something I look for in my grooming products. While the shaving gel scent is mild, the aftershave treatment is anything but. I would describe the treatment as potent, which makes sense given its medicated formula which is designed to reduce visibility of razor bumps in less than 48 hours. The treatment is not for the faint of heart, but the good news is that I find the scent dissipates relatively quickly after use.

Price: You can generally find the aftershave treatment for about $8.99 per a 2 ounce bottle. Their various shave gels retail for around $6 per bottle.

Overall Impression: I myself have struggled with razors bumps, off and on, at various points in my life and I must admit that bump patrol’s aftershave treatment absolutely delivers on its promise of visible results in 48 hours. The stinging sensation and scent are powerful, albeit brief, so first time users should keep that in mind. The shave gels left me wanting more slip and moisture for my daily shave as I now personally prefer oil or butter based shaving creams. Even with that, the aftershave offers great versatility and can be used by men and women on legs and heads. It is clear that bump patrol clearly has a formula that works for a lot of folks out there. If you’re looking for something to treat your bump-ridden skin then you should definitely give this product a shot.

With a range of products available, MANGROOMER offers an array of tools to help men, well…groom! In the ever-increasing men’s grooming market, there are a lot of products to choose from. Recently, I had to the chance to give some of MANGROOMER’s premier products a try. On to the review!

SCRUFF SCULPTOR PRO: After a couple of run throughs with the Scruff Sculptor, I think the precision length settings help this tool stand out in a market saturated with electric groomers. I was actually gifted an electric shaver last Christmas but barely use it and the blade is already pretty dull. While I can’t speak to the clippers of the Scruff Sculptor getting dull just yet, I have to say that the addition of the precision trimmer really makes it super easy to use. My facial hair never gets that unruly so I haven’t had to use the Power Burst feature designed to help with thick, coarse hair, but maybe Winter time will give me the opportunity to use that feature. My one complaint is that the nifty Whisker Belly doesn’t always work. While it’s nice to have, I have to be honest and say that I found more hair in the sink than I did in the Whisker Belly. Sad, but true.

STAINLESS STEEL DETAIL GROOMER: Unfortunately, my first run in with the nose hair trimmer was no bueno. First, the trimmer got hot very quickly and then I felt a little shock. Seriously. Needless to say, that nose hair trimmer won’t be getting cozy with my nostrils again. The precision attachment for eyebrow maintenance is awesome and a much-needed accessory for those with bushy brows who require periodic trimming. It’s fail proof and won’t leave you looking like the “Cat Lady” (forgive me!).

Overall Impression: In my experience with the products, MANGROOMER offers some neat features not present in a lot of their competitors on the market. For instance, the Scruff Sculptor’s precision feature makes it easy to remember my ideal manscaping length without having to fish through little plastic guards strewn about in my bathroom cabinet. Along those same lines, the Detail Groomer’s eyebrow and precision attachments are great so far, but due to my initial shock when using the nose hair trimmer I don’t think I’ll trust that guy up my nostrils again. All in all, if those features are strong interests for you then you should definitely give it a try. I think either would make good gifts this holiday season, especially for novice manscapers.

Disclosure: Products were provided courtesy of Dreadnought for the purpose of this review.

Great Britain created shaving brand Dreadnought to free American men from terrible shaving routines. Complimented by a great sense of humor and stellar list of ingredients, Dreadnought offers a line of products to create the perfect daily grooming routine. Fortunately, I have been able to try some of Dreadnought’s great products so I thought I’d share my take with all of you. Read on!

Brand Packaging: In my personal opinion, no Dreadnought review is complete without some mention of the clever and original packaging. You can’t tell from the picture above, but the guys over at Dreadnought have issues, I mean serious issues! I open the box to the shaving cream and the inside of the lid top says “Good choice!” Further investigation reveals warnings such as “Don’t eat Dreadnought. It may make you sick! Besides it tastes awful and you are meant to shave with it you crazy fool!” These guys crack me up. And the tubs are recyclable. Best brand packaging ever.

I may or may not have made some of these noises after giving Dreadnought a try.

Dreadnought Shaving Cream: With a refreshing scent, I would describe Dreadnought’s Shaving Cream as thick and rich. The 100 ml tub retails for around $19 and I would say that it’s worth a buy. The richness of this cream cannot be overstated and it takes very little product for a full face and neck shave. I’ve been following the product directions to a tee using the Dreadnought Avenger Shaving Brush. This stuff distributes easily and has a pretty cool way of staying put on my face where cheaper products tend to drip considerably. The other cool thing is that the shaving cream also has an ingredient called Decelerine, which reduces the appearance of hair resulting in closer shaves over the course of months. Unfortunately, I haven’t been using Dreadnought long enough to support those claims, but I’ll keep you posted if I notice a difference. 3.5/5

Dreadnought Post Shave Balm: While I certainly appreciate the Shaving Cream, I have to say that the Post Shave Balm is my favorite after shave product I’ve used to date. Formulated with hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel), the balm has this scent that takes me back to my earliest memories of visiting barber shops with my Dad to get my biweekly trims. Because of the unique smell, the post shave balm also serves as a bit of smell good stuff (in MANE MAN language…that’s cologne). It’s also formulated with aloe vera extract, which I can’t say enough good things about. It soothes and provides lasting moisture so the balm is definitely a winner in my book. It definitely soothes after each use and is super thick too. Just look at the consistency! 4/5

Overall Impression: So far, I have to say that I’m enjoying shaving with Dreadnought products. Paired with my new Edwin Jagger razor, I’m getting some pretty good shaves these days. I have to say that I’ve had a few nicks in the past couple of weeks, however that may be attributed to a learning curve with the new razor than with Dreadnought products per se. I fully expect that I’ll get a lot of use out of both of these products which makes Dreadnought a pretty good value. One thing I know for sure, I won’t be using cheap shaving foams ever again.

Created by Angelic Matthews, SLICK & BOSS is a brand dedicated to bringing men the most comfortable shave. Born out of a desire to help the men in her life enjoy the shaving process, SLICK & BOSS is Matthews’ natural and organic brain child aimed at helping men of all ethnicities combat nicks, razor bumps and irritation during our shaving routines. I’ve had the chance to try out a few of the products from SLICK & BOSS and wanted to share my first impressions with all of you. Check it out!

Ultra Calming Shave Creme: This shave cream is silky smooth, absorbs well and has a nice refreshing scent. After several trials with the product, I came to the conclusion that I wish it were thicker as I had to be a bit heavy-handed with the product to get the coverage I needed. That being said, it is much improved from using traditional shaving foams and gave me a cleaner and closer shave than the majority of gels and creams you will find on drugstore shelves. 3/5

Clean and Crispy Hairline Tonic: Think of the stinging sensation you get after that fresh barber shave or cut…did you ever wonder what that stuff was? I still don’t know what it is, but what I do know is that the Clean and Crispy Hairline Tonic doesn’t sting anything like that stuff. That being said, I didn’t notice any difference in my skin’s texture of clarity after using the tonic. Unfortunately, I just didn’t see or feel a benefit from it. 2/5

Aftershock Face Lotion: Having a daily moisturizer is essential for every guy and Slick & Boss’ Aftershock Face Lotion is effective in providing daily moisture. With a creamy texture, this lotion is easy to apply and dissolves very quickly. And, it left my skin feeling pretty smooth after each use. I can’t speak to its effectiveness of preventing razor bumps and acne as I only tried a sample, but I would say it’s worth a shot. My only real qualm about this product is that the lotion also has Alpha Hydroxy Acid which can cause irritation, especially for those with sensitive skin. 3/5

Intense Night Therapy Mask: In my opinion, the Intense Night Therapy Mask is definitely a stand out product. I have to admit that initially, I was a bit apprehensive of trying a mask as if was something I had never done before. Granted, I’ve used “fancy” fash washes before but never a mask! This product is aptly named and was definitely intense the first time I used it. With a distinct pumpkin scent, I got a little burning sensation when I first tried this (which is indicated on the bottle) but didn’t experience that with subsequent uses. I did not experience any physical manifestations of the irritation. It left my face feeling clean and smooth. I think this one is definitely worth a shot! 3.5/5

I recently stumbled across this brand spotlight video from The Art of Shaving, a popular men’s grooming brand dedicated to helping all guys get the perfect shave. While I haven’t personally tried their products, this video will definitely give you the basics to achieving the best shave. The four elements of the perfect shave are:

Prepare

Lather up!

Shave

Moisturize

Any comprehensive skin care brand out now will use this as the foundation of their recommended shaving routine. Personally, I’ve found that I have cleaner, softer skin AND I can’t remember the last time I nicked myself shaving! I highly recommend Shea Moisture’s Shave & Groom Set or EVOLUTIONMAN products. I’ve used both and have had great results.

One of the things I hate about my grooming routine is keeping up with shaving. I mean seriously, hasn’t anyone invented anything that can keep my facial hair the same for like a good three months at a time!? I’d seriously be into that. Anyway, here’s my rundown of the Shea Moisture’s Shave & Groom set. Read on!

Facial Wash & Scrub: I think this is a good everyday cleanser. It offers great moisture and cleansing properties without stripping skin of natural oils. That being said, I think those with acne prone skin may consider something with salicylic acid which is likely better at preventing blemishes and breakouts.

Beard Softener & Beard Protector: I’ve come to realize that generations before us have really been missing out. It turns out that shave oils are REALLY good for your skin. While I think the shave butter gets a lot of shine from this line, I think the pre-shave oil is probably the most important part of the equation. From the moment I opened it and enjoyed the smell of the shea oil, I knew I would like it. This greatly contributed to the super close shave I was able to achieve…and it smells so good!

Shave Butter: I enjoyed using the butter, however I feel at times it was a little difficult to get through with my razor as its pretty thick (FYI, I use the Gillette Fusion Pro Glide Power). But I will say that my single most favorite part of using this shaving combo is the application brush. Truth is, it really does help evenly distribute the product and it’s such a great throwback stylistically.

Tea Tree Herbal Bump Preventer: To be honest, I noticed no real effect from the bump preventer. In fact, I have noticed a bump or two on the lower half of my neck. Enough said!

Face Cream: This daily moisturizing cream has the same scent as the entire line which is definitely a positive. The real let down is the spray nozzle which makes it difficult to get out of the bottle. Short of that, the cream itself offers a lot of moisture and left my skin feeling pretty smooth.

Overall Impression: As I’ve been trying to be more conscious of my shaving routine lately, Shea Moisture’s Shave & Groom Set is an easy to follow routine that offers a close, smooth shave. While the Tea Tree Herbal Bum Preventer and Shave Butter did little for me, I thoroughly enjoy using the Wash & Scrub on a daily basis as my natural cleanser and the Beard Softener is a key component to my shave ritual. I have discovered that no matter what products I use, the most crucial component to a good shave is a sharp razor! That being said, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better shave set at this price point.

Disclosure: Product was provided courtesy of Anita Grant.

Packaging: Fresh. Clean. Simple. Anita Grant products are straightforward and pretty inconspicuous which is great for the most discreet of guys.

Consistency: This is an oil blend and it feels as such. It’s not overly thin but definitely not what I expected since I was used to foam shaving cream. It comes in a handy (glass) spray bottle, and I sprayed 2-3 pumps into my hand for each shave. Then you just have to rub it on your face and start shaving. Oh and by far the best part of this being an oil is that you have the benefit of being able to clearly see where you are shaving. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to try to shave around a mustache and goatee when you’re using a white, foamy shave cream. With this product, you get arguably more benefits to your skin AND you can clearly see what you’re shaving. It’s excellent for precision. Plus, with this I don’t have to worry about accidentally flinging shaving foam all over the bathroom.

Smell: I LOVE the smell of this product. Its natural and woodsy scent reads masculine in large part due to cedarwood and ylang ylang which are common ingredients in colognes and perfumes. I did not find it to be an overwhelming scent at all and in fact, I enjoyed smelling it a bit throughout the day. Oh and as an added bonus, apparently ylang ylang is an aphrodisiac. ::insert come hither face::

Price: The product retails for 4.95 pounds (British Sterling) which amounts to about $8 per bottle (I think, correct me if my conversion is off). So that’s roughly $8 for 1 oz of shave oil which apparently can last for over 200 shaves. Not too shabby!

Overall Impression: When it comes to men’s grooming shaving really is the bane of my existence. I hate it and try to avoid doing it all. That is until I used Anita Grant’s Pure Shaving Oil. After the first use my face was super smooth and the smell is fantastic. I honestly found myself wanting to shave more and more to get consistent results. It’s a shave, aftershave and cologne all rolled into one.

Initially I was hesitant to believe that a shave oil would be better than a traditional foam, but this stuff is definitely a keeper. I’ve only been using it for five days or so and I’m already worried about running out. And did I mention it is also vegan and cruelty free?! This definitely gets the MANE MAN stamp of approval.

Disclosure: Products were provided courtesy of EVOLUTIONMAN for the purpose of this review.

Over the past few days I have had the privilege of trying out EVOLUTIONMAN‘s line of products and let me tell you, there is a lot of good stuff going on here! EVOLUTIONMAN offers everything the modern man needs in his personal grooming arsenal. There are traditional items like shave cream and face wash as well as revitalizing eye gel, concealer and nail polish for the Hollywood rock stars inside all of us.

Since this is a review of a line of products, I’ll give you my impression product by product and then give my overall impression of the line. Check out the detailed review below!

Cleanse and Shave: In my opinion, this is a great alternative to a traditional shaving cream. Let’s be honest, shaving is generally not an enjoyable experience but this product was surprisingly effective and a pleasure to use. I come from an old school camp where traditional foams are standard but EVOLUTIONMAN‘s Cleanse and Shave is more of a creamy lotion that doubles as a face cleanser which makes this a great value. After you dampen your face, you lather the product on and shave as usual. But, by far the best part of this product is the silky smooth finish. Cleanse and Shave is definitely something I could get use to using on a regular basis.

Lip Balm: There are two things that dampen my love affair with Winter and those are dry skin and chapped lips. I’m a bit of a hoarder of lip balms during the colder months so I’m glad I got the chance to try EVOLUTIONMAN‘s Lip Balm. This stuff slides on super smooth and provides long-lasting moisture. It’s definitely one of the better lip balms I’ve ever used…and that’s saying a lot!

Revitalize Eye Gel: To be honest, at first I wasn’t too keen on using the eye gel as the concept is really foreign to me. Ironically, I’ve always felt like I had a little extra puffiness under my eyes but I never really thought much about it. I’ve been using the Revitalize Eye Gel for less than a week now and observe no noticeable difference, however, when I apply I definitely notice a little tightening on the applied areas which lets me know it’s putting in work while I go about my day. I’ll continue to use and report back at a later date.

Moisture Protect SPF 20: To be honest, I was a bit challenged with the Moisture Protect. It’s designed to be a twice daily moisturizer to be used in conjunction with Wash & Buff and the Revitalize Eye Gel. I found this product challenging to apply, especially with my goatee and occasional stubble getting in the way. After several trials, I realized that I had initially over-applied the product and learned that a little bit goes a long way. The only real downside is that it does smell like sunscreen, but the smell is light and dissipates relatively quickly.

Wash and Buff: This is the mac daddy of all fash washes. I never want to run out of it. Wash and Buff is easily the best face wash I’ve ever used! It’s creamy, luxurious and well worth the price. The consistency is pretty smooth even though it gently exfoliates with what feels like the finest sand from some luxurious Caribbean island destination. The smell has a menthol, medicinal type note and you can definitely feel it working when in use. Plus, like some of the other EVOLUTIONMAN products, it lists Tea Tree Oil as a key ingredient. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Overall Impression: Generally, I am seriously impressed with EVOLUTIONMAN products. While I had a bit of trouble with the Moisture Protect, I found that as a brand EVOLUTIONMAN really understands men’s grooming. I got everything I never asked for and with the Wash and Buff at its helm, this line definitely has a long time customer in me. Anything from this line would be a great gift for yourself, a brother or friend who is looking for consistently great products for everyday grooming. Check it out at www.ev0lution-man.com!
