My mom grew up in the 70s and wore an Afro but I was shocked at how much she didn’t know about natural hair. During the holidays my aunt and I convinced my mom to to drop the wigs and flaunt her natural hair out. She is loving her twist outs. If there is a natural hair generation gap, it’s up to this generation to inform our elders.

My mom and Granny are natural and have been off and on for several decades. Now that I’m a natural hair junkie, they tend to live vicariously through me as far as learning about new hair “stuff”. However, neither is afraid to look into products they’ve heard of and my mom will even watch YT if I send it to her. So you can teach an old dog new tricks…please don’t tell them I compared them to dogs lol.
