Welcome to mane man! My name is Jor-El and I started mane man to provide men with an online resource for all things hair. A few years ago when I decided to grow out my fro I found there was very little male centered information on the web.
I found some great information but it all happened to be surrounded by lots of feminine touches (think pretty cursive and floral motifs…I exaggerate but you get my point). Not to knock it, because I have learned a LOT from those sites, but I wanted to create a community where guys could connect…enter mane man.
At the end of the day, hair is just hair so the basics of maintaining healthy hair are the same no matter your gender. Everyone has to take care of their hair if you want a good-looking mane to top off your signature style. So with this blog I hope to pass along some of the information I’ve learned over the past few years. From fros to curls, ‘staches and goatees I hope to cover a bit of it all.
On this site you’ll find personal stories, product reviews, profiles on naturally curly men and some profiles on some of your biggest supporters…curly women! I saw your article on CurlyNikki and happily found your blog. Its awesome! I have a 13 year old son who’s wearing his hair in an afro and I’m always on the lookout for tips/inspiration on taking care of that thang from a male perspective. I can’t wait to show him your site when I get home. I’m especially loving your product reviews and Mane Men profiles. That kid in Japan with the dreds was killin’ me! Lol.
